The brown-eared bulbul (Hypsipetes amaurotis) is a medium-sized bulbul native to eastern Asia. It is extremely common within the northern parts of its range and is a familiar bird throughout Japan, where it is called hiyodori, and Korea, where it is known as jikbakguri.

Patrinia is a genus of herbaceous plants in the honeysuckle family. There are about 17 species native to grassy mountain habitats in China, Siberia and Japan. The use for this plant is to provide a flower through long hot summers.
